About
Photography has always felt like more than just taking pictures. I picked up my mom’s camera at 14 and never really put it down.
Over time I started noticing how photos show up throughout life in graduation announcements, wedding albums, on family walls, and sometimes even at funerals. They become the pieces of memory people hold onto.
That realization became very real to me after taking prom photos for a group in high school. One of the girls passed away not long after, and it changed the way I saw photography completely. It showed me how meaningful these images can become over time.
Since then, being trusted with moments in people’s lives is something I never take lightly.
My Story
What I love most about photography is watching confidence grow during a session.
Most people show up a little nervous at first, which is completely normal. But once they realize they don’t have to know what they’re doing, everything starts to change. I walk people through every step so they never feel awkward or unsure what to do.
Eventually something shifts. People start bringing their own ideas, moving naturally, and just enjoying the moment. That’s usually when the best photos happen.
Some of my favorite sessions are the ones where we’re laughing the whole time, even talking a little smack with the grandparents just to get them to smile.
Outside of photography, you’ll usually find me talking to strangers, enjoying a good coffee shop atmosphere, traveling, or spending time outside whenever I can.
And at the end of the day, emotion will always matter more than perfection to me.
